About Fifty Grande
Fifty Grande is a digital and biannual print travel magazine that explores the U.S. Our mission is to inspire more people to take advantage of all the incredible places and experiences across the country, coast to coast. Each issue explores the country through one theme, which we use to offer immersive stories from a variety of voices and perspectives. Since food and music are integral to traveling, each issue uses them as pillars to tell stories about America.
You:
You will be the voice of Fifty Grande on all social platforms, driving audience development and engagement across social media. This is a crucial role at Fifty Grande and is the right gig for an ambitious pro who’s looking for a jump up in their career. The right candidate is social native, resourceful, hard working, and focused on results. You need to be able to solve problems with speed and accuracy. You will also work closely with the Fifty Grande Managing Editor and founder directly.

Here are the basics:
Responsibilities
- You’ll manage the publishing and engagement activities on Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin and X.
- Work with the Managing Editor to create and schedule content. Be prepared to significantly develop the creative vision and strategy of the magazine’s social presence.
- Source on-brand photos and creative for all posts.
- Respond to incoming messages and comments, and actively engage in social conversations where appropriate.
Qualifications
You have these:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
- 2-3 years experience in social media, editorial or newsroom experience at a media company
- Ability to work independently and deliver results
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong familiarity with Fifty Grande and our brand voice
- Direct experience with social reporting tools, social management platforms, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X and how each platform’s audience responds to different content formats
- Experience with Later and Photoshop
- Familiarity with Google Analytics, Facebook Insights and reporting data from these platforms
We’d love if you also had these:
- A/B test headlines to maximize engagement on all stories and provide feedback to editorial team
- Experience with WordPress content management
- The ability to pitch stories to editorial staff based on social performance
- Ability to coordinate the creation of platform-specific content with our production teams, including text, photo, video and interactive
- Graphic design experience
- An eye for collaboration opportunities within and outside of the magazine and a desire to innovate in social native storytelling
