Even self-described non-fans of country music have heard of Stagecoach. Regular viewers of shows like the Bachelor franchise are intimately familiar with the Stagecoach festival. Every year, it seems some new scandal will be unearthed — someone kissed someone they shouldn’t have, posed for a riské photo or secretly met up with a star — and the location is always Stagecoach. Seductive, celebrity-studded and full of swing dancing,
Part of Bachelor nation or not, the country music festival caters to any country fan with BBQ by way of Guy Fieri, a honky-tonk dance hall and a chance to meet the Compton Cowboys. There will, of course, also be a range of adult beverages served, the Budweiser Clydesdales will be on site, and be sure to take a spin on the iconic ferris wheel.
As for performers, Stagecoach always gets the creme de la creme. (Or would a meat-based metaphor be more fitting, i.e., choicest cut?) Stars Eric Church, Miranda Lambert and Morgan Wallen are headliners. Newcomers to the genre, like Post Malone (who is on board to play a “special set of country covers”) and Brittany Spencer will stand alongside legends like Willie Nelson. Trampled by Turtles, who will be known to genre outsiders for their twangified covers for indie rock classics, are billed, too. Scheduled as well are performers who aren’t within the traditional confines of the genre, like Elle King, Leon Bridges and the Beach Boys. The late night Palomino lineup continues this trend, with Nickleback, Diplo and Wiz Khalifa taking the stage on each respective night. But Stagecoach cares little for genre purity. Instead, the festival stakes a big tent, under which anyone and everyone is invited to line dance, stomp their boots and get their cowboy on.
