So What Music Festival is set for Fort Worth, Texas for one weekend in June where it will host more than 65 artists from the 2000s. This fest doesn’t mess around with what you’re getting: a few dozen sets of pure nostalgia for anyone who wore a lot of black in high school.
This year, the lineup includes headliners like emo-rock band Mayday Parade, pop-punk group Boys Like Girls and the main event, Underoath and Skillet. Smaller bands that feel like they’ve played every pop-punk-adjacent music festival known to man will also be there, including Knuckle Puck and 3OH3!. This one is for the veterans, but the festival encourages you to bring your kids, who So What?! call “junior moshers,” along for the ride and introduce them to festival culture and good old-fashioned emo hits.
So What Music Festival 2024 has three stages around the grounds, so you don’t have to run between too many locations to catch all your favorite bands. The festival encourages attendees to bring totem poles, the more creative, the better, as long as they’re under 10 feet tall. So What does have refillable water stations, allowing you to mosh responsibly in the Texas heat, and plenty of options for lunch at the festival venue, the Panther Island Pavilion, which has views of the Fort Worth skyline and 40 acres of outdoor space. With all that space, you’re free to jam in with everyone else at the main stage or lay in the grass and listen from afar.
