In the moonlight, everything looks more charming. If you agree, you would probably find Moon Crush – a four-day music festival on the white sands of Miramar Beach, Fla. – irresistible. Every year, the organizers behind this event convene thousands of people to dance to live music, under an almost-full moon. As the name suggests, this year’s protagonist is the Pink Moon – also known as April moon – which traditionally marks the blooming of spring.
Kicking off on April 18 with headliners alternative indie band Lake Street Dive and Los Angeles native folk rock band Dawes, the festival will reach its peak on April 21, as the moon nears its maximum illumination. On the stage, you will see singer Noah Kahan, who recently brought us all to tears with his performance of Dial Drunk on SNL. It won’t yet be a full moon, which is expected a few days later on Tuesday, April 24, but it will definitely feel like one.
To get the most out of this experience at Miramar Beach, you might also challenge your fate at one of the many beach activities, as long as your planets align. You could go sea fishing, explore the clear waters while you travel to Crab Island on a pontoon boat, or take a family portrait against the blue horizon. One of the great things about Moon Crush is that you can reserve your seats in front of the stage so that you won’t have to worry about it while you’re out there having fun. Say goodbye to elbowing through the crowd with the option to reserve personal private areas – called coves – for a hassle-free experience. These are groups of chairs, right in front of the stage, delimited by ropes.
