If you’ve ever been stuck at the laundromat and thought, “They’re playing satellite radio!” We’ve got good news. The iHeartRadio Music Festival, the one that gave us the inescapable Miley Cyrus cover of Blondie’s “Heart of Glass,” is back for its 14th year. This multi-genre festival, hosted by Ryan Seacrest, is more of a two-day concert experience with performances on a single stage at the T Mobile Arena.
It barely makes a difference to separate headliners from supporting acts, as it’s two days of some of the most popular performers in the world. This year the lineup will include everyone from two of today’s biggest pop stars, Dua Lipa and Halsey, to veterans of the genre Gwen Stefani and New Kids On The Block to The Black Crowes and Paramore. In years past, crowds partied momentarily to half-hour sets from radio mainstays Sam Smith, Pitbull, Lionel Richie, Megan Thee Stallion and Black Eyed Peas.
If the celebrity presenters are making you feel a little too much like you’re sitting through hour four of an awards show, you can turn to the food and other offerings from Shake Shack, Pizza Forte and various ice cream and sandwich stalls. Just don’t be gone too long. With the performances scheduled as shorter spurts, you’re not getting the full performance experience from anybody, but a sort of greatest hits from America’s Top 40.
And if you miss the festival entirely, both nights will be broadcast live on iHeartMedia radio stations. Hulu, the official streaming partner, will also offer the fest to subscribers at no additional cost.
