The Hogs for the Cause Festival, hosted in New Orleans, celebrates food and music while raising money for pediatric brain cancer. Gathering over 20 bands and 90 competing barbecue teams, this festival is “a flagship of [Hogs for a Cause]” and is an” annual celebration of the year-round fundraising done on behalf of the hogs.”
Hogs for a Cause invites local and regional barbecue chefs to enter into seven different categories to compete for the title of Grand Champion. The two-day event is filled with music, local beer, and fundraising as well. Artists like St Paul and the Broken Bones and Ian Noe will sing as you lick your fingers after trying almost every pork dish imaginable. In years past, the dishes have ranged from Lemongrass rubbed Pork Tacos to Asian Fried Ribs. You’ll wish you had worn bigger pants.
