If you’re a fan of EDM music and boats that are so large it looks like they shouldn’t float, Groove Cruise Miami is heaven on earth. This year, the festival organizers have promised “the largest music cruise in history,” beating probably themselves for the title if true. Groove Cruise takes everything EDM fans love about festivals on land (the plethora of artists, the themes, the costumes), and turns up the intensity.
The five days at sea will have a backing playlist of more than 100 dance music artists and DJs, who will perform from Miami to a private island and back. Headliners this year include Eric Prydz, James Hype, Meduza, Nicole Moudaber and Seven Lions, but at any time of day, you’ll be able to find an artist gracing one of the cruise ships’ many stages. If you’re aboard Groove Cruise, you’re not just there for the music. Not many festivals, let alone cruises, take themes as seriously as GC does, which has different day and night themes for all five days of cruising. Themes this year will include 50 Shades of Candyland, Tropic Like It’s Hot, Only Farms and Neon Splash. Inspiration for each theme already exists online if you’re trying to figure out what constitutes “sexy farm” core.
Groove Cruise 2025 is like any other cruise. You’re free to roam the boat, eat at a variety of restaurants, and participate in activities like swimming, zip lining, rock climbing, mini golf, or just lounge about, with the added element of the music festival experience. You can still meet your favorite artists, you just may be doing it in a swimsuit.
