With four days of some of the biggest country stars on the sandy shores of Myrtle Beach, no amount of sun — of which there’ll certainly be a lot — can keep away the fringe jackets at Carolina Country Music Festival. There’ll be four stages on the 18-acre venue, and plenty of cowboy hats and boots of every color and style. The main stage will host headliners Morgan Wallen, Carrie Underwood, Old Dominion and Parker McCollum. Other acts include DJ Slim McGraw, who’ll pull up country, pop and more top hits in between sets on the main stage, and The Crew, who’ll teach line dancing throughout the weekend.
In case you’re wary of dressing up, don’t be. Not only do folks go all with their country pride, but CCMF also has official themes to help you figure out what to wear. The three themed nights, starting Friday, will be: Hawaiian Night, in tribute to Jimmy Buffet, who was known for his flower shirts and tropical rock sounds; Neon Cowboy, for your typical country attire but in hot pink or electric cyan; and U.S.A Day, in tribute to singer-songwriter Toby Keith, whose intense patriotism (occasionally problematically so) was a main feature in his songs.
Another thing the festival has to celebrate: this year marks the third consecutive year that the Carolina Country Music Fest has been nominated for the ACM’s “American Country Music Festival of the Year” award.
