Bridge Day is an annual one-day festival in Fayetteville, West Virginia, where — you guessed it! — people get together and jump off a bridge. But not any bridge, the spectacular New River Gorge Bridge. It’s held on the third Saturday every October and commemorates the 1977 completion of the bridge. On this day the bridge is closed to cars and opened for pedestrians. Online estimates peg the attendance at 100,000.
