THIS FESTIVAL HAS BEEN CANCELLED
Named by USAToday as the ninth-best food festival in the nation, The Bay Bites Food Truck Festival is dedicated to quick bites and portable plates, all by Mobile’s waterfront. This neighborhood block party-esque festival has all different types of cuisines and tiers on the food pyramid. Although the festival won’t happen in 2023, past offerings include seafood, crepes, barbecue, burgers (try a Crazy Crustacean from Bacon My Day if you’re feeling extra adventurous), elote and copious amounts of frozen yogurt self-serve.
Bring a water bottle — Alabama in the middle of summer, after all — but come thirsty, too. The Bay Bites Food Truck Festival offers a number of craft wine and beer stations for 21+ attendees who just want to crack open a cold one on the banks of Mobile.
The festival is not restricted to ages 21 and up, though. In fact, families are encouraged to attend. If the self-serve wasn’t reason enough, there will be enough lawn games and prize giveaways to keep children entertained for an evening. Bonus: kids under 12 get in for free and all proceeds from the festival go toward Mobile Baykeeper, a nonprofit focused on maintaining Mobile’s water and air quality.
The Specs:
- Tickets cost $16 in advance or $15 at the gate. Children under 12 get in for free.
- Bring some extra money. While tickets include three alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks of your choice, they don’t cover the cost of food inside the festival.
- Check out Fifty Grande’s guide to Alabama here.
