You’re handed the most deliciously juicy sandwich. Upon tasting it, you think this is the best-fried chicken sandwich that you have ever eaten. Not so. This sandwich is vegan. Perplexed for the rest of the day, you are flabbergasted to find that everything you’ve eaten today is vegan. Welcome to the Asbury Park Vegan Food Festival, a showcase par excellence of plant-based, vegan dishes by local chefs from New Jersey. In addition to the vegan food, there will be plant-based fashion and live music. More than 50 vendors come each year, and the list continues to grow. While the music schedule is yet to be released, you can expect to find food like Mexican Chocolate Brownie Bites and Banh Mi sandwiches from a variety of vendors, including 7th Heaven Chocolate and House of Cork from around the New Jersey area.
