Suwannee Hulaween is a forest rave that’s, I imagine, kind of like watching The Nightmare Before Christmas while on acid. It’s trippy. But, the Halloween weekend bash isn’t just an EDM festival. At this year’s Suwannee Hulaween there are more than 90 indie, rock, pop and alternative artists playing across multiple stages. Typically the festival has anywhere from five to seven stages, but the exact number will be released closer to the start of the festival. Hosted and headlined each year by Telluride jam band The String Cheese Incident, Hulaween used to be a series of shows at small venues across the United States, but since 2013, they have packed the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park.
Each year the Suwannee Hulaween music festival has a different theme; 2022 was horror themed and 2021 was monster mash themed. Keep an eye out for the 2023 theme announcement so you can dress the part — and know how to pack. This is a five-night camping festival and it’s safe to assume people will stuff their tents with every freaky, scary or sexy costume they match with the theme. Costumes aren’t required, but you are sure to be the odd one out if you are wearing khakis. Tent camping is included with each General Admission four-day pass, but if you don’t like looking like a zombie when you wake up, RV and car camping upgrades are available.
