One of the many EDC spinoffs, the three-day Electric Daisy Carnival Orlando replicates the lineup and layout of the flagship Las Vegas event at a smaller scale. The festival is still huge, though. Diplo, Steve Aoki and The Chainsmokers have all played here, along with many, many DJs that keep electric dance fans up and jumping for hours. Like all EDC events, EDC Orlando takes its carnival theme seriously. It has a ferris wheel, games, and costumed carnival performers dancing in and out of the crowd.
Each of the five stages is decorated with a colorful combination of enormous 3D art, lasers and pyrotechnics that would make a Mardi Gras float jealous. Two massive main stages (Kinetic Field and Circuit Grounds) sit on opposite ends of the grounds, with the other stages mixed throughout. Artists perform simultaneously on each stage from 1 p.m. until 12 a.m. over the three days.
As reviewers have noted, EDC Orlando does a better job than most at honoring at the raver’s creed: Peace Love Unity Respect, or PLUR for short. EDM Identity’s Grant Gilmore has said PLUR is palpable in the crowd.
The festival offers three types of tickets.
- General admission: 190 dollars for 3-day pass.
- General admission+: 270 dollars for 3-day general admission+ which is described as “a more comfortable experience, including expedited entry and premium restrooms.”
- VIP admission: 390 dollars.
